Hickory 
Hickory (Carya ovata)
Hickory-
The color varies from almost white sapwood to a dark brown to pinkish heartwood. Most people are drawn to this species because of the varying and inconsistent color. Hickory is heavy, hard, and tough making it difficult to machine and finish.
